STOPS VIRTUALLY EVERY HANDGUN ROUND to the National Institute of Justice (N.I.J) level IIIA ballistic resistance specification - The picture(s) above show the Kinder Shield tm type insert board, along with an impacted round - A hardened standard police issued 40 caliber (copper jacketed) high velocity round (easily will penetrate an automobile windshield) is shown - Notice the flattened copper jacket round now has the weave pattern imprint from the DupontTM Kevlar® ballistic fiber pattern. The Kinder Shield tm is N.I.J. level IIIA ballistic resistance see table below - level IIIA is the highest ballistic level rating available for handgun rounds).

The middle photo shows the copper jacket takes on the "Denim" style weave of the BACKPACK SHIELD upon impact being stopped cold. The Kinder Shield tm is less <0.5" thick , and weighs less than a text book.

Use the Kinder Shield tm as a Bullet Resistant Shield - Although it can protect your back, its intended to be held in front and pointed squarely in the direction of the gunfire. It's meant to be used like a Spartan Shield (i.e. the movie the Last Stand of the "300"-) Get your head and heart/chest upper leg area behind it and virtually all handgun rounds can't get through (N.I.J. level IIIA) it. Its intended use is that of an active Bullet Resistant Shield. Its 17" high and 12" wide - you can position (horizontal crouch) most of your vital body area (head and heart/chest area) behind it while retreating. Its a major survival advantage versus not having any protection at all and being shot with a couple of 9 mm/44 Magnum rounds.
