Use it as a Bullet Resistant Shield - Although it can protect your back, its intended to be held in front and pointed squarely in the direction of the gunfire. It's meant to be used like a Spartan Shield (i.e. the movie the Last Stand of the "300"-) Get your head and heart/chest upper leg area behind it and virtually all handgun rounds are stopped* (N.I.J. level IIIA) . Its intended use is that of an active Bullet Resistant Shield. Its ~17" high and ~12" wide - you can position (horizontal crouch) most of your vital body area (head and heart/chest area) behind it while retreating. Its a major survival advantage versus not having any protection at all and being shot with a couple of 9 mm/44 Magnum rounds. There are no survival guarantees when it comes to being shot at. Like wearing a seat belt in a car wreck, its a major survival advantage versus not having anything at all for “cover -protection”.
